Your Gripsie Care Guide

Look, these socks are built to last. But they need a little love. Here’s how to keep the grip grippy, the colours bright, and the pilling situation under control.

Wash Cold. Always.

Cold water, gentle cycle. Hot water breaks down the grip dots and shrinks the fibres. Your socks did nothing to deserve that.

Turn Them Inside Out.

Before they go in the machine. This protects the grips from catching on other clothes and keeps the outside looking fresh.

Use a Mesh Laundry Bag.

This is the one most people skip and then wonder why their socks look tired after a month. The bag reduces friction, which is the main cause of pilling.

Skip the Fabric Softener.

Fabric softener coats the grip dots and makes them lose their stick. Use a mild liquid detergent and nothing else. No bleach either.

Air Dry. No Tumble Dryer.

Lay them flat or hang them up. Heat is the enemy. It degrades the grips, shrinks the fabric, and accelerates pilling.

Wash With Similar Fabrics.

Not with your jeans. Not with your towels. Wash them with other delicates or activewear. Rough fabrics cause friction, friction causes pilling.

Keep Them for the Studio.

Hard floors and outdoor surfaces wear down the grips faster than anything else. Save them for the mat, the reformer, and the barre.

Store Them Flat.

Don't ball them up. Balling stretches the elastic and distorts the grip pattern. Fold or lay flat.

Do this and your Gripsie socks will keep turning heads for a long time. Skip it and, well, that’s between you and your grippy socks
